Well, it has been about a year since college. What has changed? Well basically nothing, and at the same time everything. I live in Salt Lake City, well Millcreek. Millcreek is a weird place.
Why is Millcreek weird? Everyone who lives here, grew up here, and they have never left. I don't mean they have never left Millcreek, but I mean they go on their missions, they go to college, they get married, and they come back. They buy houses on the same street as their parents, and 4 generations end up living in the same neighborhood.
All the homes are adorable, all the people are cute, all the children look like their outfits came straight from Nordstrom. The lawns are perfect, everyone drives a nice car, there are neighborhood cook outs, and bake offs, and picnics, and games, and even a neighborhood squash growing competition.
Yes, everything seems perfect in Millcreek. It has the small town feel, while still being just 10 minutes from downtown Salt Lake.
How did I end up here? It was coincidence. I went to the Institute at the U and picked up the flyer for someone who was selling their contract. I came over with my friend Pam to check the place out, and a few days later, I am living in Millcreek.
